“Hey Siri, set the scale to zero” With “Hey Siri” enabled in the iOS device, taring scale reading requires just a simple voice command. More! We have add a list of commands for other common functions:
Siri Shortcuts List
- is the scale connected
- set scale to zero
- scale battery status
- current scale reading
- change unit to gram
- change unit to ounce
- change unit to pound
- change unit to kilogram
- start talking scale
How to use
To use the Siri Shortcuts as voice commands with Listen to “Hey Siri” enabled, simply say “Hey Siri, [smart chef shortcut]”
Setting up Siri Shortcuts
iOS 13 or newer
To setup Siri Shortcuts in the newer versions of iOS, please use the Apple Shortcuts app.
Once open Shortcuts, you may see existing shortcuts for the Talking Scale app. To avoid migration issues, press on the “Select” button location on the top left hand corner to select and delete existing Shortcuts for the Talking Scale app and/or Shortcuts from other Smart Chef apps.
In the following example, we will create a Shortcut for “Start Talking Scale“
After starting the Apple Shortcuts app,
Step 1: Press on the the + button and then “Add Action” text button
Step 2: Press on the “Apps” icon
Step 3: Press on the “Talking Scale” icon
Step 4: Press on the “start talking scale”
Step 5: Press on “Next”
Step 6: Start voice keyboard
Step 7: Record your voice for “Start Talking Scale”
Step 8: Press on “Done”
Step 9: All setup and ready to go.
Step 10: Just say “Hey Siri, Start Talking Scale” to start the Talking Scale app
Repeat step 1~9 to setup Siri Shortcuts for other commands for the Talking Scale app.
